The School
bus is loaded. The trailer is packed with boats; we have a pile of about 20
boats. 3 hours to the put in. The scenery is beautiful, the ambiance is great.
We end up puting our boats at noon after a safety talk and the introduction
speech with the brain storming to remember all the names. That was a fun game:
"Pete the great", Jon no H", "Magali no E", "Laurent
the French Loren", "Loren the American Laurent", "Jeff,
El Hefe", "Greg Jensen the original", "Tony the tiger",
B-Rad the little nail", "Dede the wibble", "Matt with 2T",
"Wayne the pain", "Alistair the cookie monster", "Land
don't crash", " Shawn the Kermit", "Alan one L all A",
"Sue the little boy named Sue", "Molly rymes with Polly",
"Tracey T-Racy", "Barbara Santa Barbara", "Mary mouse",
"Polly no bread".
The first
day was great on the water. We had a couple of nice waves, I am getting used
to my bar of soap (the boat is so short - 7 feet). Coming from a sea kayak,
which is 13 foot long to a rodeo boat, that's a difference! I even took a swim
in one of these big waves. The funny thing is that I can't remember when I swam
the last time on the river (I usually roll back my kayak
I must have lost
something in these years. My ego is coping with it slowly J we arrived at the
camp, quite tired. The time to set the tent and, guess what, we were having
a cool beer
What a perfect trip. The camp is on a sandy beach. The night
has been a good rest. We signed up for massages for the day after next. No,
no, you didn't dream or miss-read it. Massage, we have a professional massage
girl (Quebequoise) who kayak with us during the day and do massages on the evening
(3 sessions of 1 hour).
