Bùzios & Cabo Frio
Cabo Frio.

This is really an idyllic place. You can find a sand as white as in the
White sands of New Mexico U.S.A.
It's a place where buggies are king. You think that everybody has to
have one. It's a beautiful peninsula, you just have to close your eyes
when you will drive by the chemical factory! Anyway, take a little time
to drive to the end of this land. You will be charmed by its beauty. Don't
stay to long, you may start to have bad thoughts - give up workkkkkkk,,
staaaayyyy heeeereee. Makeeeeeee yourrrrrself a fishhhhhhhhermannnnnnnnnnnn.
No, no, you didn't hear a mermaid! Who says it was a mermaid.
Bùzios

If you managed to get your attention out of Cabo Frio, drive up to Buzios. That was the exotic resort of Brigitte Bardot. It's a tourist place ideal for most Americans - clean, expensive, artificial (Of course, we don't talk for members of the BCWC of Houston!) . So please, avoid tourist season! We were lucky because we went there 2 weeks before the holiday season. It was nearly empty, and not to expensive. In the high season, prices can triple, and don't forget your goggles if you want to dive. I was amazed by the prohibitive price of the first price goggles. Therefore I found a reason not to dive. Bad luck, it will be for next time. I can guess from all the tours organized for tourists that diving in these waters should be gorgeous. The picture above has been taken from "praia dos ossos", well known for the bones found from the old time where pirates used to hide in this part of the coast.
What to do, What to see.

We found a nice little pousada (small hotel) at Buzios really friendly.
They have only 4 rooms really clean and not to expensive at only 1 min
by foot from the center of Buzios. The address is Pousada Ibiza
(Rua Manoel Turibio de Faria, 50 Buzios -024 623 2522). The next day we
converted ourselves into lizards. We spent all the day at a beautiful beach
called "Praia Brava" (on the picture above). It's THE beach for the surfers.
You will meet a really cool waiter who "speaks" 5 or 6 languages (or at
least knows words and sentences). He is friendly, and will serve you typical
food and sucos. In one word, "It's the paradise" - One word, one word,
it's closer to 4 words.
If you didn't think about giving up you civilized life for a future
in Bùzios or Cabo Frio, then it's too late for you, we cannot do
anything for you. It's not even worth to ask our little friend the mermaid
to come and see you!
