Some of our favorite restaurants in France

In Paris

If you want to taste real excelent french food in a lovely environment, then try "Le 14 Juillet". But you need to book in advance because they are full every day of the week. Just give a phone call before noon for the evening and you'll make it! The restaurant is small, the ambiance is traditional french and young. You'll get a 3 courses menu for 200F with the wine of the house (excellent).

The Best "Crêpes" of Paris. This is the typical french restaurant from Britany. the menu is simple, the price is pretty small and the food is just awesome. This is a "must do". (For info they don't take credit cards, so use french personal checks or cash). Don't be affraid, there is nearly all the time a line to get in, expect a 20 min wait. But its worth waiting :-)

Le Pétel

This restaurant is in the same idea as "le 14 juillet" (see above). This is typical french food in a quiet and nice environment. The price is moderate. This is a really enjoyable experience.

After 2 years in the States, and especially in Texas, it's great to find some good Mexican food. Ok, it's a little expensive compared to Mexican cantinas in Houston, but when you are in lack of mexican food it's good, good, good. You'll also listen to some great mariacci!

Le Bistrot de Breteuil.
It's a really good restaurant, expect to spend 200F per person with wine. The menu is typical French food. In summer, you can enjoy your meal on a nice terrace, and then walk to see Les Invalides or la Tour Eiffel which are not very far from the restaurant.

We were talking about Mexican cantinas, here is a really typical mexican cantina as you can find in Houston. If you want to forget that you are in Paris, go to this place! Spanish speaking only.
Some great indian food. I love the spinash with cheese and the nam with cheese with a spicy mouton with spinash, Huuuuuuum.
It isn't too expensive, and you get a free drink to start with.

Great place near 2 wonderful rivers: La cure and Le Chalaux. These 2 rivers are famous among kayakists.
This little hotel- restaurant is well known in the region. You get a 5 courses menu for only 145FF. The cook is really a professional.
